Get involved!

Join in and Light Up Leicester!

Light Up Leicester will see the city transformed with illuminations, and we want you to join in! Here are a few ideas of how you can light up your Leicester:

  • Bring your glow sticks with you
  • Decorate your dog!
  • Bling up your bicycle

Ride around the artworks

You can grab a £5 credit for Leicester’s e-bike scheme so you can explore the trail by bike. These will be available for the first 200 applicants via the Ride On UK app, using the code LUL2022.

Visit the Light Cafe

During Light Up Leicester, Beta X (72 Church Gate) will transform into The Light Cafe, a venue showing light works by local artists Andy Harper & Leonie DuBarry-Gurr, Joe Moran, Paul Mazzitelli, Tony Coleman, and Sean Clark. The Light Café will also be hosting light sculptures made by pupils at local schools who have been involved in Lighting The Way, plus a gallery of pictures of work made in the workshops and by people at home.

Guided Group Rides

Join us for a guided group bike ride around the trail! The ride will be a two-mile cruise of the city at a gentle pace, taking in the illuminations mainly on cycle paths and shared space routes. There will be lots of opportunities for photos and discussion!

This is an inclusive ride for all abilities, with accessible bikes and rickshaw rides available for those who require them. Please let us know when you sign up if you have any additional requirements.
